How to Hang a Wall Clock Perfectly (Step by Step)

Rohit MehtaMay 30, 2026104 words · 1 min read

A simple guide to mounting your clock at the right height and spot.

Tools you'll need

A pencil, measuring tape, spirit level, drill or a sturdy nail, and a wall anchor for heavier clocks.

Find the right height

Eye level is ideal — roughly 57 to 65 inches from the floor to the centre of the clock.

Above furniture

Leave 6–8 inches of space between the top of a sofa or console and the bottom of the clock.

Mark and mount

Mark the spot, check it is level, drill, insert the anchor and hang. Step back to confirm it sits straight.

Safety note

Use a wall anchor for clocks over 2 kg so the fixing stays secure.
